Unleashing Inner Peace: Navigating Motherhood with Self-Awareness and Holistic Health

Updated: Sep 1

It’s been a hot minute, Mamas, since I’ve opened up this blog & I have to be quite honest, I have been through some shit since I first wrote the post you will read below. The post actually became a stark reminder of how I had lost sight of what I was truly passionate about & wasn’t making time for myself in a manner that was improving my life.

I won’t dive into it all but in short, I got into a mode of “head down” & push forward after 2020 and I realize with tears in my eyes that I am just NOW coming out of that mentality. Among normal life stressors there was also - losing a business, moving 5 times & raising two young twin boys without “help” while working full-time that challenged me in ways that made me feel like I was always on the defensive. Like that tiger was going to attack at any moment, in part because I had trained my subconcious to always be on the alert.

I continued to exercise, eat well, breathe, meditate & sleep well but I got lost in the to-dos of life. I wasn’t stepping into my own body & mind as an active participant in my own reality. It wasn’t a “what do I want to do” life, “it was what needed to be done” life. BLEH, that gives me the heebie jeebies even typing that out loud! I believe we can ALL live at our highest vibration when we look at our bodies & minds holistically yet I wasn't able to embody this very vibration.

I suppose this is my way of saying my decision-making was often out of desperation & not from the heart...it wasn’t a responsible cycle in life. I continued to inspire, guide & get results for my clients & those around me yet was drowning myself in the day-to-day.

My healing began this past May when I awoke one night to the worst period I have ever had in my life, by morning I had lost more blood than I have ever experienced in my life, even childbirth. The weakness that overcame me that night & the next couple of days was this sense of clearing that only occured because my body was forced to tell me to step back.

I sought out a naturopath, acupuncturist who approaches the human through ancient chinese medicine because I simply don’t believe that western medicine is useful. (It’s fantastic when you’ve broken a bone, need surgery or such but that’s a whole other rabbit hole to dive down ;).

My energy had become stagnent almost complacent, she immediately could feel this as she felt my pulse. What was showing up was that I have given so much since the birth of the boys yet hadn’t fully recovered, that’s 5 years.

Through her modalities & quite honestly our conversations over the last 3 months I’ve brought to light so many things that simply need to be released. It wasn’t overnight and it wasn’t ONE thing it was many…

  • Healing nutrition so my gut didnt have to work so hard while I learned to let go of stress

  • Acupuncture & frequency healing appointments to help clear what was stuck

  • Clearing the hormones from years of birth control (18-32yrs before I truly dove into holistic health & realized how poisonous this was..)

  • Herbal Supplements to support my endrocrin system & thyroid as I healed

  • Adapting my workouts to accommodate energy

  • Adding molecular hydrogen water to truly become hydrated

Being a female before your 40s, you are invincible - I played rugby, drank my face off, worked crazy hours, weight-lifted like a maniac, did Bikram yoga & traveled with lil kick back. I call it usage, but after 40 the healing you didn’t focus on before will smack you straight in the face. Yes many of you will say hormones & perimenopause, but also tending to your mind, body & consious is vital for this era to go smoothly. I tended greatly to my meat suit, exercising was never a problem but my mind, conscious & organs were screaming to find other modalities to deal with the stress I was throwing at them. Let’s just say I’m listening loud & clear now. I’m ready for this next chapter of life with my family full of love, abundance & continuous healing.

If you can relate, I invite you to tap back in to release your inner peace as you navigate motherhood. Here is the original post…

In life, we are often responsible for our current circumstances and the decisions that led us there. While there may have been detours and obstacles along the way, we can choose to steer our lives in a better direction moving forward. Freedom is a state of mind where our days are unburdened by overthinking, and we act with respect and consideration for others while doing the things we love.

One of the biggest hindrances to our freedom, especially as Mamas,

is our inner dialogue. Our self-talk can either be constructive or destructive, and it's up to us to choose which to cultivate. To achieve freedom, we must strive to improve our inner language and embrace progressive self-communication.

To start on this journey, we must first reflect on what we want to change in our lives. Writing down these changes can make them feel more real and tangible. We must also believe in ourselves and our ability to make these changes, no matter how small or large they may be.

Another step is to engage in activities that bring us joy and fulfillment. This could be something as simple as hiking once a week or pursuing a talent or skill we possess. By doing more of what we love, we can replace negative thoughts with positive ones.

Stepping outside of our comfort zone is also crucial in the journey towards freedom. By challenging ourselves and pushing our limits, we can grow and develop our abilities.

Ultimately, to be truly free, we must take care of our well-being and not be afraid to pursue what makes us happy, regardless of others' opinions. By embracing self-awareness and responsible decision-making, we can move towards a life of freedom and happiness.

Mamas, if you are looking for a way to become more empowered in your own being, your body, breath & mind then please reach out. If I don’t have availability in my schedule then I have an amazing team of exercise & mindfulness specialist that can guide you from anywhere in the world.
